Project Shelter is a beacon of light for those who lack adequate housing, persons facing terminal illnesses, and individuals with disabilities. We are part of the Hope Society, founded by the dedicated Catholic, Fr.George Kannanthanam. For over 35 years, FrGeorge's unwavering commitment has driven us to complete 1500 shelters and transform countless lives.
Our work started with rehabilitating alcoholics and drug addicts, but we've grown to achieve much more. We established HIV/AIDS Care centers in Bangalore and Belgaum, Karnataka, and broadened our scope to address disability issues through Project Vision. This initiative focuses on eye donation, eye care, and enabling children with disabilities
In times of disaster, we step up to help. From responding to the Nepal earthquake to aiding during the Kerala floods and the COVID-19 pandemic with initiatives like CoronaCare Bangalore and Mother’s Meal, we stand with those in need.
Hope Anti Addiction Action Group operates with a dedicated team, a large volunteer base, and strong partnerships with like-minded organizations and government agencies.
A world where every family has shelter, inspiring compassion and transforming lives.
We provide homes to deserving families, fostering hope and dignity through collective efforts.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization. We offer incredible opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved and make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.
Our latest social initiate is Project Shelter, a movement on housing. We already have an experience of building 1500 houses. In response to the fact that one out of every six person does not have a safe house, we plan to create at least one house every month, for someone who will never be able to fulfil their dream of having a house. This is possible to mobilising ten lakhs rupees (one million) every month for 1000 persons as a contribution of 1000 rupees each. We can build a 500 square feet RCC roof house with two bed rooms with this amount, provided you have a site. We mobilise the land also through generous contributions.
Our beneficiaries are only those families who will never be able to build a house of their own. We focus on four categories of people as deserving for a house under this project.
1. Families with anyone with disability.
2. Those with terminal illnesses.
3. Widows.
4. Those who lost house in disasters.
Each case will be studied on a case to case basis and a decision taken by the Founder Members.
